Alderney elects its Guernsey representatives
TWO candidates who stood for election on a team ticket to represent Alderney in the States of Guernsey enjoyed a resounding victory at this weekend’s poll.
Old friends Louis Jean and Graham McKinley joined forces in their election campaign saying they would present a united front in Guernsey so that the island's voice was heard better.
Veteran Alderney politician Louis Jean, one of the island’s two current serving representatives, topped the poll with 443 votes while Graham McKinley took 382. Matt Birmingham garnered 225 votes and Chris Rowley took 148. Turnout was 48 per cent.
