Scooter for young teenager

Hi there, my hubby and I are looking to buy a cheap scooter for our daughter who turns 14 in September. We don't really want to spend loads because we can't afford too much and secondly, what is the point in getting a brand new bike for a very inexperienced rider.

Obviously we want a road safe, mechanically sound scooter in good condition so please let me know if you have one or know of one. Something along the lines of an Aprilia or Peugeot etc.........
