Maternity pay for teachers

It looks like a fight may be in the offing in the States. Deputy Southern is trying to raise the issue of teachers on maternity leave who lose their leave if they take even one day off sick after returning to work. The Education Minister appears to be trying to blame the unions for not accepting changes to conditions of service. Expect this one to rumble on, perhaps even get explosive in the coming deputy elections.
