History made in Alderney
History was made in Alderney today as States members and contractors met to sign an agreement to redevelop Commercial Quay.
The £9.5m scheme is the biggest capital project in the island for many years. It will ensure the quay can continue to function in the future.
It's the only berthing place for large vessels bringing fuel and supplies into the island and is steadily falling into disrepair. The reconstruction will begin later in the year and will take between 12 and 14 months to complete( from CITV)
I wander what the cost will really be upon completion £15m is my bet..
