drug couriers know the risks they are taking and what the countries punishment is for smuggling.surely this woman should have thought of the consequences for her and her baby. in guernsey it would have been a very long prison sentence

Quite agree Thistle, should have thought of the consequences of gertting caught. She then 'fell' pregnant in December, so whilst she was in prison!?!

Anyone visiting laos needs to check the way of life its not your normal 9 to 5 lifestyle and peoples lives are of no real value to take heroin into laos is very silly.

Yes in abortion cases the mother decides,
in this case she has no choice!

Well shes not been found guilty so there cant have been any decisions regarding the baby,its alleged a prison guard is the father of the child,the laos goverment have bought the case fwd to next week which maybe quite bad news for her i would suggest.


"her trial had been brought forward after arrangements were made for her to see a lawyer for the first time.
He has called on the British Government to intervene on her behalf.
At a press conference in central London, he said: "It's absolutely no coincidence that yesterday the Laotians announced that they were moving her trial up probably by a year to next week"

So...what happens to her baby now?

She got pregnant by artificial insermination because she knew the Laos government did not nor ever have executed pregnant women.the child will probably be brought up by her mother.
The UK will then probably release her after a few years on compasionate grounds. After all she is Black a Woman and Mother not an acient decrepit old man Ronnie Biggs springs to mind, He s now free to die in peace.

Did you see her laughing away on the TV clip?

I bet she is really relieved to be in the UK and off to a nice cosy UK Prison which will be a holiday compared to what Laos Prisons are......

Probably Millions over the years. Then again with the namby pamby attitude to drug offences she will more than likley be freed on parole in a few months.
