Jackson delays opening tour dates
Pop star Michael Jackson has delayed the opening four nights of his This Is It UK tour at London's O2 arena.
Concert promoters AEG Live said the delay was necessary because the singer needed more time for dress rehearsals.
The first show, on 8 July, has been pushed back by five nights. Three other July dates will not take place until March 2010.
Fans, who were told of the rescheduled dates in an email, have reacted with a mixture of anger and support.
"What difference is a week going to make in the grand scheme of things?" wrote Pam A on a Michael Jackson messageboard.
"I had plane tickets booked from Canada," wrote a fan calling themselves janmic.
"I'm supposed to be returning home on July 9th. I am really not impressed."
The affected dates are as follows:
8 July - moved to 13 July, 2009
10 July - moved to 1 March, 2010
12 July - moved to 3 March, 2010
14 July - moved to 6 March, 2010 (from BBC news)
Why does this not surprise me...

My thoughts entirely!!
Friends were booked for one of the first concerts, so now have to reschedule time off work, change flights [at a cost] and amend hotel booking. Does not look as if their travel insurance will cover this either!!
That'll teach em to want to see Jacko.................................... Ha!!!!

For me, buying a ticket to see Jacko would be the same as going to see a Victorian 'peep show' !!!!

Re: Jackson delays opening tour dates
Why would anyone pay to watch a paedophile perform? Is Gary Glitter the support act?
No sympathy for anyone who chooses to line the pockets of known perverts I'm afraid, perhaps this will discourage people from going to see him in the future, which is a good thing.

I do not remember seeing anywhere actual facts that he is, as far as I am aware he is not on a register so its only you that assume he is something that the law as not ever managed to proove.
My belief is that he is a little strange and nothing more, and is still one of the best living entertainers on the planet

Re: Jackson delays opening tour dates
I agree with Wayside - I think he is weird - but I also think he met some calculating mothers who saw a chance to make a few bucks for nothing - he also had 'trial by media' - which is more like a Kangaroo Court than a proper hearing.....unlike Gary Glitter who was blatent about the whole sorry thing!!! But having come out in his defence - I still would not pay money to see him!! I think he should just live life in the quiet lane from now on....least said/seen soonest mended......and I think he probably WAS the best but a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then!!!! what he is like now....I don't think we are going to find out......I hope I'm proven wrong!!!

So you think it's ok for a grown man to sleep with pre-pubescent boys?
You don't need a conviction to prove guilt - just ask OJ Simpson.

Re: Jackson delays opening tour dates
Jackson has managed just 2 out of the 45 show rehearsals so far....
I am not convinced that the shows will go ahead, as previously posted.

This report, if true, doesn't look good for Michael Jackson

Re: Jackson delays opening tour dates
Such a shame that we will now never know if he could have pulled off a great comeback.
I hope that it does not turn out that he took his own life because he was worried about the pressure of the tour, but some of his family are already talking about prescription drugs abuse.
RIP
