Lorry container falls on to car

The front of the car was crushed by the container

A car bonnet has been crushed by a container falling off the back of an articulated lorry in Guernsey.
The rear container disconnected from the vehicle and slid off, landing on the bonnet of the parked Ford Fiesta. No one was in the car at the time.
The incident happened on the north side of The Bridge earlier.
The police sealed off La Hure Mare Road to allow two cranes to hoist the container on to the lorry. A police investigation is currently under way. (from BBC)

My god..that could of been a whole lot worse.........
Thankfully no-one was hurt !!

I bet that was probably one of those blooming skip lorries that charge around the Island. I reckon they think they are in the Monaco GP.

I agree - when I see them hurtling towards me I always think 'This is it'.....I don't know how they would be able to stop safely in an emergency :x

i hate those container lorries they go past so fast and around sharp corners with out slowing down they think they own the road .
i thought they were only allwoed by law to go 25 here .i see lorries go so much faster .and it they have an escort they are like rockets.dont care for pedestrions at all
