Airline job losses 'last resort'
Guernsey airline Aurigny will only consider redundancies as a last resort as it looks to cut costs, the States-owned company has said.
It is consulting staff on ways to save money, including using advances in technology to improve efficiency.
It said it thought 20 hours a week could be saved in costs at the airport ticket desk, equivalent to one part-time post, because of online booking.
It added that there were no plans to remove or reduce the size of the desk.
Aurigny employs about 290 staff throughout the Channel Islands, as well as in the UK and France. (from BBC)
Its about time the States sold it off...

Yesterday's 'acting' Chief Minister (unelected) gave the airline the right to 'fleece' the Guernsey Tax Payer!!! How would they manage to make a profit without our taxes at their beck and call?????
