Euro lottery scam letter targets Jersey residents
Islanders have been targeted by a lottery scam which asks for bank account details to be passed to a bogus company, Jersey police have said.
The firm called Euromillion Lottery International has written to residents from a Spanish address, detailing a cash win and requesting bank details.
Det Con Jeremy House warned against passing any personal details to unknown companies.
He said no "winners" had received any money from the company.
Det Con House said: "If something looks or sounds too good to be true, it normally is.
"We would ask people to be on their guard for any kind of scam, including this one, and never to give personal details, such as a bank account number over the phone or to any company that you previously had no dealings with."
