Nearly a thousand manual workers in Guernsey could strike over a pay row with the States.

The public service staff want an increase in pay equal to the rate of inflation plus three percent.

A basic raise of 3% has already been offered but the workers have rejected it.

3% is a Joke about time the States "got real" no wonder they are losing good quality staff to the private sector

With the States reporting a profit of £70 million I don't see how they can justify what is effectively a pay cut for manual workers in offering a less than inflation pay "increase".

What have they done to deserve a paycut?

People are leaving their jobs and it will cause problems.  Many of these jobs are important for society to function.

It's already hard to get decent staff and poor pay makes it harder.  Eventually you can't even hire a muppet and things will start to go wrong.
