Look who wears the trousers now …

SHRINKING hemlines of school skirts have led Grainville School to ban their youngest students from wearing them and have replaced them with trousers.

The school believes that very short skirts, rolled up at the waist by fashion-conscious girls, tended to compromise their dignity on stairwells and in practical subjects like music and drama.

Haute Vallée School have also decided to take action against the wearing of tight microskirts by introducing a compulsory pleated skirt with a hemline just above the knee for their 11- and 12-year olds. And students of the same age at Les Quennevais School can also now be seen in new regulation skirts of a similar length. (from JEP)

its about time to...maybe schools in guernsey should be doing the same thing...

Having a friend who is a male teacher and is employed as sports teacher in a mixed school were a small percentage of girls get crushes on teachers. This dress code ie trousers, can only be a good and logical common sense step forward.

Many young ladies may now wear the trousers, but some are also the hunters, big time.

The weapon of the mini- mini skirt has just been neutralised.
