Are blogs about to have their wings clipped ?
WE have had several scandals in Jersey over the last three years ( as with other jurisdictions ) and it has caused much information , debate and interest by islanders who are no longer restricted by editing of the so called accredited media. Anyone can pass their opinion or information on the internet, Vue being an excellent example. The blog is here to stay, but is the information now available being withdrawn using the big stick of the law. If Jersey pass this proposition, how long will it be before Guernsey follows? Interesting informative views on how PPC is trying to restrict the internet as a voice for the people. Could it be they are right ? ?

Privileges and procedures ( States of Jersey PPCommittee my note ) are looking to bring in under P100/2010 a media accreditation system. It's clear that this is designed to restrict access to and reporting on States proceedings including even public sittings of committees and panels.
to seek to disbar a person, or persons from access to meetings and from, subsequently, recording those meetings for later public consumption on the grounds that they are not “journalists” can only be considered direct action designed to limit public access to States’ business and to curtail freedom of speech.
