Are you needing a bit of divine inspiration when it comes to interior design? If so, Jersey's Town Church may have just the thing for you.

The church is currently undergoing a massive renovation and has put its pews up for sale.

The pews date back to the 1860s making them 140 years old.

Historian Francis Corbert said: "We are trying now to dispose of them if possible to raise some money for the church at the same time. It's because the new flooring which is being installed will have suitable chairs and open the whole place up to more modern forms of worship."

The Town Church has stood for more than a thousand years. Steeped in history, it is the final resting place of Major Pierson who fell in The Battle of Jersey.

The revamp will include the installation of underfloor heating, re-plastering, maintenance of the wall monuments and new lighting.

If you want a final look at the current interior of the church or if you want to take a pew... the church will remain open until Sunday week. (from CTV)
