Thieves have reportedly stolen £60,000 worth of stock from a Marmite warehouse.

A truck full of limited-edition products from the brand's Christmas range were taken from the West Yorkshire location, Yahoo! News reports.

Items taken are believed to have included over 2,000 products from Marmite's Christmas Gifting range and 15,000 bars of Peculiar Milk Chocolate Marmite.

Marketing manager Roxana Parvizi said: "The theft has come as a huge shock, especially at such a crucial time of the year when people are thinking about buying their Christmas gifts.

"We're working hard to replace the stock to ensure Marmite lovers and Christmas gift buyers across the nation don't go without this festive season."

Kimm and Meller brand manger William Pegg added: "We never thought such an extreme theft would happen. Extra workers have been drafted in to run shifts to keep up with demand and we're doing our best to get the products out to suppliers as soon as they are available."

West Yorkshire Police confirmed the break-in occurred on November 14 and are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 0845 6060606 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
