Inflation rate creeps up
The rate of inflation is creeping up in the Channel Islands, but not by as much as in the UK.
Guernsey's annual rate of inflation was 2.7% at the end of last month - up from 2.3% in September.
In Jersey the annual rate rose fractionally from 2.1% in September to 2.3% in December.
In the UK inflation is currently running at 4.7%.
The rising cost of energy, due mainly to the falling value of Sterling, has been one of the big drivers in stoking up inflation in the British Isles. (from CTV)
