Rookie could become Chief Minister
The rules for who can take the post of Chief Minister in Guernsey could soon change.
The current Chief Minister Deputy Lyndon Trott was appointed under the rules which require any candidate for the top political job to have already served in the States for at least four years.
But new proposals from the States Assembly and Constitution Committee could see those requirements scrapped, meaning any deputy can stand for Chief Minister even in their very first term.
