Early fine weather gets the parish buzzing – with flies
UNUSUALLY warm weather earlier in the year has caused a problem for St Andrew’s.
The parish has experienced a lot more flies than usual. It has been put down to the consistently warm weather and the farmland in the area.
St Andrew’s senior constable Richard Best said the douzaine had contacted Environmental Health and been told that the rest of the island was likely to be experiencing the same thing.
‘It’s a mixture of being in between two farms and a chicken farm, combined with the early spring weather,’ he said. (from GEP)
Must say I noticed that there seems to be more flies around the north of the Island..
