Five Bailiwick residents in Birthday honours
Lifeboat coxswain Buz White has dedicated his MBE to the crewmembers who make the marine rescue service possible.
The 50-year-old receive the honour for his services to maritime charities in the Bailiwick.
Alderney’s chief jurat was awarded an OBE.
Colin Partridge, 69, who will retire from the bench next month, receive the award for voluntary services to the court of Alderney.
Gillian Freeman was absolutely delighted to be receiving an MBE for her contribution to youth music.
The 71-year-old is the longest-serving member of the Elizabeth College Summer Orchestral Course and founder of the St James Youth Promotion Trust.
Sark resident Pam Cocksedge, made a Member of the Order of the British Empire, has two reasons to celebrate this weekend, for tomorrow is her 87th birthday.
She receives the honour for charity work in both Sark and the United Kingdom.
Retired surgeon Tim Peet’s long service as a volunteer at a hospital in Uganda has been recognised with an MBE.
Mr Peet, 70, was sent a letter three weeks ago informing him of the news. (from GEP)
