Disabled facilities on Guernsey Empty Disabled facilities on Guernsey

I dont know if this is the right place for this, but here goes.

What are facilities for disabled people like in Guernsey now. I'm coming over in August and one of our party is in a wheel chair.

Most importantly is there taxi's capable of carrying a motorised wheelchair or will she be better bringing her portable chair?

In town is there wheelchair access to most shops?

Any information gratefully recieved.

There are very few kerb ramps in St Peter Port town centre so a motorised wheelchair might be a bit difficult. Portable lighter chair possibly a better option. West coast path from Cobo up to Chuet is good for wheelchairs or scooters.

Also most toilets are closed but disabled ones are still open but you need your radar key . make sure you have one .if not you can get one from our visitor centre .. have a great holiday
As the town was built on a steep hill the shops do not have easy access but the commercial Arcade is on one level so this is much easier and there is not any traffic allowed in it ... enjoy the beautiful Floral displays that have been put in now ..

Thanks guys. Seems it has'nt changed a lot since I left ten years ago.

Maybe a portable wheelchair will be the best way to go.
