Green Lions on target for promotion

Guernsey FC have all but secured their promotion place in the Combined Counties League with a convincing 5-1 win at Farleigh Rovers.

The Green Lions were on the attack from the start on their visit to the third-from-bottom Foxes.

Ross Allen opened their account after 20 minutes; Dominic Heame adding to that on 44 mins and putting the visitors 2-0 up at half time.

The second half was another goal fest for the Green Lions, thanks to Ryan-Zico Black on 48 mins, Dave Rihoy four minutes later, and then Glyn Dyer shooting home after 65 minutes.

Craig Prendergast scored the consolation for the hosts with an 86th minute penalty.

The win extends Guernsey's position at the top of division in their final away match of the season, making a top three finish extremely likely.

A run of home games mean the green and whites will have the home advantage, and much bigger crowds, for the remaining games in their CCL debut.
