A plumber claims he found a group of illegal immigrants living in the loft of a terraced house.

But by the time he called police the mystery tenants had disappeared.Lee
Bradley, 33, said he peered into the roof space of the house home in
West Bromwich, West Midlands, to discover up to 12 people - including a
baby - living there.Dividing walls between adjoining attics had
been knocked through and furniture, bedding and even toys had been
moved in, he said. But
by the time police got there, the group had seemingly fled the empty
property, taking their mattresses with them but leaving a box table and
chairs.Officers
scoured the area using a helicopter and heat seeking equipment but
could not find themMr Bradley told The Sun: "I decided to have a look
in the loft space and popped my head through the hatch."There was a
light dangling from the roof and about a dozen people, men, women and a
baby who started to cry when she saw me. "They were eating sandwiches
and just stared back at me. "I
was scared and shut the hatch straight away. The police were here
within 20 minutes but the people had gone ... The police think they're
illegal Kosovan immigrants but God knows where they are now." His
wife Caroline, 32, added: "Lee came in ashen-faced and said, 'There's a
load of people living in the loft.' I thought it was a wind-up."A
spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "A man in West Bromwich
alerted police just before 2pm on Wednesday, June 11 that he had
earlier been looking around a vacant property when he checked the loft
space
and saw people'e faces in the gloom."He went back home and rang
police."Officers attended the address which was in a group of terraced
houses. "They gained entrance to the property's adjoining lofts and
conducted searches but no-one was found."The search included the force
helicopter flying over the terrace using a thermal imager."She added
that officers were now trying to locate the owners of the property.

That reminds me must check my loft . :D
