Fish appeal for Jethou Bumblebee
A young seal which was close to dying when it was rescued from a Jethou beach a month ago is now making great progress at the Guernsey animals' shelter.
Jethou Bumblebee, as he was named, has put on ten kilos and there's now an appeal for donations of fish - especially mackerel and herring. The seal is eating 15 to 20 fish a day.
Geoff George is looking after the seal says it has been a real struggle trying to get hold of some of the fish.
"We would like to thank those that have helped already and Jethou Bumblebee really appreciates it, and I can certainly tell that by the speed he swallows them!" said Geoff.
Jethou Bumblebee now weighs-in at almost 30 kilos, but it will be a few months before he is fit enough to be released back to the wild - and that's a lot of fish needed between now and then.
