Vote for your unsung hero

Five islanders have been shortlisted for the Unsung Hero Award and the public are now being asked to vote for a winner.

The nominees are Shaun Winterflood, Jane Northrop, Graham Williams, Roy Trustum and Evan Ozanne.

Altogether, 13 people were nominated for the award, which recognises those who are dedicated to helping others in the local community.

"Deciding on a shortlist is always a difficult task because all of the nominees deserve an award for the great work they do for Guernsey’s community," says Specsavers founder Dame Mary.

The award celebrates people who selflessly give their time for the benefit of others.

Islanders can vote for who they think most deserves the award by filling in the voting form or voting online at www.awards.gg from Monday 7th January. Voting will close on Friday 25th January.

The award will be presented at the Guernsey Awards for Achievement gala evening at Beau Sejour on Thursday 7th February 2013.
