Jersey schools need Ofsted-style inspections and reports
OFSTED-style inspections and reports should be introduced for Jersey schools to ensure that parents and pupils can make informed decisions about education, according to a report published by the Jersey Community Relations Trust.
And the charity says that the performance of pupils broken down according to their gender, nationality, ethnic origin and parental income should also be published annually.
The charity commissioned Professor Tony Kelly from the University of Southampton to investigate the Jersey school system, specifically the wellbeing of students and whether all local young people have access to equal opportunities.
