Pensioner 'too slow for a guide dog'
A pensioner was told he is not eligible for a replacement guide dog because he walks too slowly.
Eric Gamsby, 78, a widower from Daubhill, near Bolton, Greater Manchester, was assessed by the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, who concluded that he was not fast enough for a new dog.
He has had three guide dogs since he was 60, but will now have to walk with a white stick when his nine-year-old golden retriever, Alice, retires.
Mr Gamsby suffers from sciatica which makes it difficult for him to move his legs.
How crazy is this.... sorry but if the man can walk the dog will keep to his pace...
