Esplanade Quarter Plans Empty Esplanade Quarter Plans

Post by GD Wed 13 Aug 2008, 3:27 pm

From today you can see a model of Jersey's proposed new Esplanade Quarter.

The planning application for the approved Masterplan is now open for public comment.

If plans go ahead the Esplanade will be transformed into office blocks, new homes, restaurants and public gardens.

It'll also mean sinking part of the dual carriageway underground.

The Harcourt Masterplan first got the nod from the States in June - but shortly after there were calls for the vote to be rescinded.

It emerged the developers had a lawsuit filed against them in the US and the Chairman of Web lost his job after failing to declare a potential conflict of interest.

But the Masterplan survived and is now awaiting planning permission.

The model's on display in the old tourism building in Liberation square for three weeks. (from channel 103)

Well do you like the plans?
