HD1: Yours for £10 million!

It now seems even less likely that HD Ferries will be returning to the Channel Islands next year after it suspended services over the winter.

The company's high speed catamaran HD1 has been put up for sale on a Norwegian ship brokers website.

It has a price tag of twelve point five million Euros and is currently berthed at the cross-channel port of Newhaven in Sussex.

HD Ferries has faced huge criticism after blaming high fuel prices for the cancellation of its services between the islands and on to St Malo.

Jersey's Economic Development Department says it is unlikely the operator would be granted another permit even if it did want to return next year. (from CIonline)
