Island to house 500 building workers?
UP to 500 construction workers could be shipped over to help build the new Esplanade Quarter.
The Jersey Hospitality Association is asking its members to help find accommodation for Harcourt Development workers for the next three years.
But Senator Philip Ozouf, the Island’s Economic Development Minister, says that the request in ‘news to him’.
He was unable to comment on whether the posts would be subject to the usual five-year Regulation of Undertakings law.
In its monthly newsletter, the JHA, which represents more than 400 tourism industry partners, says that it is helping Harcourt Developments find accommodation for hundreds of workers who will be living in the Island to work on the Waterfront development ‘for three years’.
But the States have not yet approved the deal or given the contract to the Irish-based firm to develop the £330 million project. (from thisisjersey)
Lets hope the States of Jersey ensure that the local unemployed get a chance of these job's before they import foreign worker's

Don't worry about the locals, just bring in foreign workers who contribute far less to the economy
