Suspensions and pay-offs
There has been a great deal of ill will generated by the fact a senior civil servant has been the subject of a disclosure notice, yet has not been suspended. This appears to be a departure from the usual procedure, and given the nature of the investigation this seems all the more extraordinary. Contrast that with the report today that the director of the Jersey Business School has allegedly been on suspension for 18 months, and is believed to have received a pay-off over £100,000.

How can this be right, yet civil servants are a law unto themselves
