States president is re-elected
Sir Norman Browse will continue in his role as the President of the States of Alderney, it has been confirmed.
He was the only person nominated for the office of president.
Under the island's law as the only candidate, he was elected to serve for a further four-year term until December 2012.
First elected in 2002, Sir Norman was reinstated unopposed in 2004. In his role as president, he chairs the monthly meetings of the legislature. (from BBC News)
