Teen vandals use La Moye School as base
By Diane Simon
GROUPS of teenagers are using La Moye School to gather at weekends and in the evenings and are causing damage and attempting to light fires.
The matter has become so serious in recent weeks that the acting head teacher of the St Brelade primary school intends to speak to the honorary police to see what help they can give.
During the evenings and at weekends the youths are gathering and leaving an unwanted trail of empty cans, smashed bottles and hundreds of scattered golf balls.Acting head teacher Mark De Luca said that he did not mind them using the area, but he and school caretaker Carl Randall were frustrated by the damage the young people were leaving behind.
He said that they also appeared to be taking golf balls from La Moye Golf Club, which is next to the school, and throwing them around – leaving staff and others who use the building concerned that windows would be smashed.
