Re: The Deerhound
Had a fab meal last night at the Deerhound, just me and Mrs Dell, it got very busy around 8pm but we had got there well before that, the service was efficient and calmly done by polite and charming staff, not much time to wait either between courses and the food was superb! For mains Mrs Dell had the chicken stuffed with haggis and I had the honey glazed duck breast served with mixed fresh veg and dauphinoise tatties.
Definately worth a visit!

Re: The Deerhound
Returned to the Deerhound on Saturday evening with a group of friends, to find that the place was heaving! It was very busy but despite that there was a reasonable wait for food to arrive once ordered and the quality was very good. Items ordered varied from steak, fillet & sirloin all cooked as requested, prawns in a light batter, and a curry that didn't blow the head off! An excellent evening was had by all and we shall return!!

Re: The Deerhound
Had lunch with my daughter here yesterday. Sat outside in the patio area in the sun .
Good food, not too long a wait even though it was quite busy with over half of the tables - inside & out - taken! There appeared to be a good mix of visitors as well as locals as well.

Re: The Deerhound
Did you happen to notice if/what Vegetaraian dishes were on offer Dell??? Used to love it there, but when they changed hands it changed menu (obviously) and then I had two choices 1 Pasta with Veggies and deep Fried Mushrooms - neither of which are my choice of 'food I go out for 'cause it's better than I do at home'!!!

Re: The Deerhound
Sorry Karma, I did not take any notice of the veggies options!
In addition to the regular menu, they have a Summer fish specialities menu that had some really nice things.

35 years of getting 'wound up' about the food industry's lack of consideration :x it would take more than Mr Winner to calm me down :-) :-)

Re: The Deerhound
It is a regular venue for me. Had the Crab & avocado salad in the week which was really fab. It was very busy, even midweek, with a good atmosphere.
