Islanders urged to work together Chief Minister's New Year Speech
Jersey's Chief Minister has highlighted in his first New Year's Day greeting how individuals can make a difference to the life of the community. Senator Terry Le Sueur said everyone could help to make Jersey a success. He said there would be tough decisions for himself and his fellow States Members in the coming year. But every person in Jersey had a role to play in making the island a great place in which to live and work, Mr Le Sueur added. The Chief Minister said he wanted to put more emphasis on the role of the individual in the community. He praised members of voluntary groups for giving up their own peace and comfort to look after those who felt particularly lonely and vulnerable at this time of year. (from BBC News) |
