Now 1 reissued for 25th birthday
The first edition of music compilation Now That's What I Call Music has been re-released to celebrate the album's 25th birthday.
The double album includes 11 number one singles, such as Culture Club's Karma Chameleon and UB40's Red Red Wine.
When it was released on 10 December 1983, the Flying Pickets' Only You was at number one in the UK singles chart.
The first television ad for the album was voiced by comic Tracey Ullman. It sold around 900,000 copies.
The album cover featured a cartoon of a pig in sunglasses, inspired by a 1920s Danish Bacon poster of a pig singing "Now That's What I Call Music" to a chicken.
To date, the biggest selling edition was 1999's Now 44 which sold over two million copies. It featured Britney Spears' debut Baby One More Time.
25 years already... and CD's were not even around then
