Charging for Parking - Survey
Dear All
Charging for Parking - Survey
We had a great response last year to the Parking Survey and it seems things have moved on a pace since then. So here's the last question on the subject; paying for the Transport Strategy is coming, looks like we have to accept this. Of the 3 options, which one would you prefer:

Re: Charging for Parking - Survey
I answered this very silly survey and then added the following comments: -
· Make those that use it pay for it!
· Extra fuel cost is ridiculous as is the parking clock idea as people that don't ever park in Town should not be penalised! Come on, please apply common sense!!

Re: Charging for Parking - Survey
if you want to get people on the buses , to go to town, which was what paid parking was all about, then charge for town parking, on the piers, and where ever else is disc zone, i go with my car about 3 times a year to town, i would rather pay as i go, than have extra duty or a clock, to be used once every 3 months or so.
What also needs to be addressed is the use of beau sejour as a public car park, go past first thing in the morning , and see the amount of cars there, and a lot are there for days.weeks on end.IMO make Beausie paid parking, an hour or so free, if you are taking the kids for swimming or something, after that, a
£ an hour seems reasonable, there has been paid parking at the airport, for as long as i can remember, and people use that and pay ,if nessesary.
Simply put, if you use it, you pay for it!!!

Re: Charging for Parking - Survey
I agree with Beausie - but the airport give you an hour free - so I always make sure I am not over this time!!!! If I am going to be I simply take my car for a tour and return and repark - only once did I leave my car there when my late hubby and I went away for a long week-end and the cost was a staggering £66.00 (he's been dead for over 7 years now - so it was some time ago) never again would I pay such 'easy money' to the States - even the cost of a taxi to and from the airport (St Sampsons and back) is way cheaper than the parking charges......
And I agree with Thistle - last night we got back from Jersey at 20.00 and it was a taxi or walk!!!! not a bus to be seen (and we are on one of the 'better' routes)
