Forum Update

I am pleased to unveil a sneak preview of some of the features that will be implemented with the new update:

- An advanced profile

- A "Flood control"

- Multi-quote

- "Thanks" button

- Log in pop-up

The features mentioned above are just a small taste this update will occur by the weekend' and will be optional, more details will be released as they come online...

The following have been implemented please check them out and let me know if you have any problems...
I will give it a couple of days before I advise the rest of the members..

Login pop-up
The Login pop-up is a floating tag that follows a guest visiting your forum inviting him to either identify himself and login if (s)he is already or register if this isn't the case yet

The tab contains by default all the elements allowing a quick connexion for the member or a quick registration for the guest.

Flood Control
Allows the admin to limit the creation of threads, posts or private messages. This has NOT been activated but will allow us to control the forum should it becomes "Overcrowded"

Multi-quote
Now it will be easier to quote several posts at the same time. This button operates on the principle of selection / deselection.

Scrolling announcements
It displays Admin annoucements in the form of text or images, on portal, forum, or all pages of the forum.

Advanced Profile

There are different tabs such as:
- The user messages: You can write a message on the profile of a member.
- The friends list.
- Statistics.
- Contact information: You can contact the member.
- The fields of the profile

Avatars in members list
You can now see all your users avatars while browsing the members list

These are some of the options that have been "turned on" today, there will be others soon as we are happy that these are ok

Sounds good, you are obviously working hard at improving the forum with these updates for all members. Keep up the good work! I am looking forward to seeing these improvements in operation.

Greetings All

I will be "Opening" up the Forum a little more over the next few days,

All topics on the Forum will become readable to guests, except for Members chat, Games and the Gallery

We will reaching our 2000 membership soon, and I think it is time that VDI became more open to non members, they will be able to read the topics, but to post they will still need to join .

Just to advise the "Team"

VDI will be upgrading to a new software package by this weekend, (if all goes well)

This will enable us to bring new extras to the Forum which I will reveal shortly

I will inform you of the exact date of upgrade within the next 24 hours

The forum is 'growing up' nicely and the soon to be milestone of 2,000 members is something to be justifiably proud of..... well done and keep up the good work GD.

mmm... been a bit of a let down this new server, there will be a few more disruptions over the next 24 hours, but I have been told that it will be solved once and for all...
