Firefighters tackle blaze in shed

Jersey Fire & Rescue have spent the evening tackling a fire in a large shed close to Sion in St John.

At first there were concerns the man who lived in it was still inside but he was not on the premises.

At the height of the blaze twenty firefighters worked using six jets to keep the building under control as carriers shuttled water to the scene.

They'll spend the rest of the night damping down.

An investigation will begin tomorrow to find out the cause of the fire
