Dawn shows off the food of her island childhood..
THE best of Guernsey produce will feature in a national TV programme along with the island’s top TV celebrity, Dawn Porter.
Market Kitchen, a daily magazine programme on UKTV Food, will show off organic vegetables, dairy products and seafood from Guernsey on Wednesday 24 June.
It will be part of a five-minute section on Miss Porter, who will be talking about what she ate when she was growing up in Guernsey.
She said the fact that the programme, which features a strong seasonal food content, was using Guernsey produce was great.
‘The seafood in Guernsey is exceptional and it should be shown off at all times.
‘Guernsey is so self-sufficient and the produce is so good that people should make the most of it,’ she said.
Miss Porter said she particularly liked seafood.
‘The scallops are so juicy and massive and chancre crab are so tasty and really fun to pick out for hours with new potatoes and tons of mayo.’
