Frank Walker ex CM back in spotlight. Empty Frank Walker ex CM back in spotlight.

One of Jersey's most powerful Ex politicians is back in the spotlight regarding the secret files on Politicians scandal code-named operation blast. It was during his reign as Jerseys first Chief Minister that he was one of two Politicians that gave a green light to the police Chief Graham Power to keep dossiers on his fellow politicians serving at the time according to research carried out by the JEP.

What is so interesting good people, is that Frank Walker issued an emphatic denial at the time.Regarding the memos contents.

Police Chief Powers (leaked) memo states that the CM Frank Walker called Deputy Lewis a political light weight who's judgement cannot be trusted. The memo goes on to say that Frank Walker thought about giving responsibility to another Minister, but ruled out three of them because they either had relevant criminal convictions, or a known background of intemperance or indiscretion and resolved to give the job to Terry Le Suer.

It gets better. Sit tight because you are probably not going to believe this.

Lets go back a year or, so Terry Le Suer now CM, tried to sell a massive publicly owned building (ex Jersey College for Girls ) for basically peanuts to a developer. Some of our good States members forced (yes forced ) a debate in the assembly and the deal was quashed. Old CM Walker and new Cm Terry Le Suer (long term allies ) came up with a plan to help Jersey, by putting all its public land and buildings into a private company and then Just basically the two of them acting as custodians of this property to develop it. We don't need anyone else they muttered.

Basically this would give them all power however it was packaged boxed and sold to other politicians, and by doing so would remove our property portfolio to a shadowy place away from the public or elected's glare much like Jersey Waterfront Enterprise Board today.

That idea was kicked into touch by honourable members. It gets stranger. When CM Frank Walker addressed the States of Jersey in what was to be the biggest development ever on publicly owned land. Our strutting glowing CM proudly stated that Harcourt the developers were honest and had integrity and all due diligence had been carried out and they passed with flying colours, so he had every confidence that the developers Harcourt could handle the £370 million pound proposed development.

It was pointed out by a deputy at the assembly, after Frank Walkers glowing recommendation, that Harcourt were actually being sued in Ireland and actually they were being sued in America for millions and actually they owed the AIB (Allied Irish Bank ) 250 million Euros and they were not flush with money.

CM Walker apologised unreservedly to the house, saying he had no knowledge of this. He had another problem however, Irish Deputy Sean Power, with contacts in Dublin ( Harcourt is an Irish based company ) e-mailed the CM Frank Walker and other ministers a year earlier and published the e-mail on the internet as proof, warning the CM that Harcourt was in trouble in the courts. He also sent a second e-mail nearer the big debate waving a big bright red flag. At a later date this crucial information came out, of Deputy Sean Power doing the right thing, warning his CM of dangers ahead. This was also in the public interest.

All actions written above are matter of public record.

Frank Walker is now saying that he denies all the allegations written in the leaked memo and that other issues mentioned he cannot remember saying.

Yes Frank we believe you, of course we do.

Police Chief Graham Power is at this time, suspended from duty on charges unknown.

As usual the JEP has given a very pale weak internet entry. The written hardcopy is far better and more detailed. They are accused by many of being in the Establishments pocket. As it’s the same company offering Guernsey the same media offering many may agree.

Frank Walker strikes me as a despicable character, sadly only one of many in the Jersey establishment.

Hopefully the truth will come out and he and his cohorts will be exposed for the low lifes they are.
