A Jersey law firm is campaigning to change the way couples get divorced in the Channel Islands.
Hanson Renouf would like the 60-year-old law reviewed, so that married couples can apply to divorce after one year, not three.
The firm would also like to see the current requirement to say who is at fault when a marriage breaks down dropped.
It says that would avoid couples becoming involved in "mud-slinging".
Barbara Corbett, of Hanson Renouf, said: "The proposal is that we move away from fault-based divorce in Jersey to a system where you don't have to allege fault in order to get divorced.
"So if the marriage really is at an end and there isn't a way forward then you haven't got to start slinging mud at your partner in order to get divorced." (from JEP)

What are your views should the law change...

I think that is 1 year after the marriage has broken down (living apart) - not one year from the date of marriage!!! It used to be 5 in England then they changed the 'cooling off' period to 1......! unless of course (In England/USA etc) you have money/are famous etc etc then you ask, you pay, and you shall receive - and usually get the next batch of nuptials/certificate in your hands within 24 hours!!! 2 different rules there............money does not so much talk but shout in these circumstances!!! the rest of us have to wait!

How come (having never been through one - I thought it was two way traffic) - most movie stars and the likes end up paying millions for their freedom!

Still not sure I understand these remarks seem to refer to men and women not lawyers......as I said I have never been through anything like that, but don't really see what it's got to do with the workplace and a level playing field!
