US border officials can search travellers' laptops at will

A new policy gives US immigration officials the right to search travellers' electronic devices at will.

They now have the right, according to the policy, to "search, detain, seize, retain and share electronic devices, or information contained therein, with or without individualized suspicion".

Anything found to be suspect will either be "Wiped" or prosecution could occur depending on the content found
