Shake-up for Guernsey postal system
Guernsey's regulator says it wants to liberalise the island's postal system even further from April next year.
The Office of Utility Regulation is proposing to reduce Guernsey Post's monopoly area from one pound 35 to 65 pence.
It would mean other providers could offer services in that price bracket.
Their draft decision also requires Guernsey Post to reduce payroll and operating costs.
Guernsey Post and the Communication Workers Union are both strongly opposed to the plans. (from ctv)

Re: Shake-up for Guernsey postal system
Another example of a government department meddling to "improve" things? Unfortunately, this often costs us the consumers more money in the end!!
If it ain't broke..... don't fix it!!!!!

Re: Shake-up for Guernsey postal system
When is the States going to rid us of this complete waste of space. The Office of Urgent Repatriation needs to be closed NOW before it does any more damage. How can it tell a profitable company that it won't be able to supply 30% of its service and won't be able to recover its extra costs from the Royal Mail but will continue to be profitable.I'll be polite. Please go away Mr Curran.
