Bargain: iPods are selling for less than £20 on eBay's Tesco Outlet Store

Tesco has launched a virtual store on eBay offering electrical products including iPods for less than £20.
The
Tesco Outlet site features returned and repaired items such as
televisions, digital cameras and vacuum cleaners from brands including
Sony, Philips and Samsung.
Customers can bid against each
other in auctions in the hope of picking up a bargain in what is a
first for a UK supermarket. Other items are available to buy
immediately for a set price.
There was a 99p starting price
in an auction for a Canon DC95 DVD Camcorder yesterday, while an iPod
shuffle is available to buy now for £19.97 – they usually cost two to
three times that amount.
A Sony 32-inch flatscreen
television is being sold for £343.97, excluding postage. All products
sold via the site come with a 12-month warranty and customers have 14
days to return a product if they do not want it, as long as it is
unused.
Tesco said: 'The new items are products that were
previously available through Tesco stores or Tesco Direct but have now
been discontinued. They come complete with all the necessary parts and
accessories and are still in their original packaging.
'A
large proportion of these items have never been used. They might, for
example, be unwanted gifts or products customers have simply changed
their mind about.
'They have been checked, inspected,
repaired (if necessary), graded and reboxed. All refurbished items will
be clearly marked in the description.'
The trial could prove popular as millions who have been forced to tighten their belts seek bargains this Christmas.

eBay is expecting its busiest shopping day of the year this
Sunday, with 4.75million visitors predicted to buy more than one
million presents.
This equates to about 12 gifts bought
every second. The website's sales for October were already up 19 per
cent on the same period last year.
Spokesman Julia
Hutton-Potts said: 'Savvy Brits know that tighter purse strings doesn't
have to mean a compromise on quality this Christmas. After a year of
doom and gloom, it seems everyone has been looking for some early
Christmas cheer.'
Tesco is following a trend started by
other major retail brands. Littlewoods and Argos have so-called
clearance bargains on eBay.

Do you think this is a good idea ?
