No Guernsey Live this year
There'll be no Guernsey Live this year unless the States promisies to underwrite the event.
The festival took place in 2008 but failed to return last year as it made a substantial loss.
Organisers want the States to stump up 75 thousand pounds but only if the festival flopped.
The first event saw chart topping acts play in the island including The Editors and The Enemy.
Culture and Leisure say they support the event but there are no funds available for the States to make a financial contribution. (from CTV)
It was never going to happen when it last took place not enough locals supported it to make it viable...

Would they dare - using taxpayer's money in this financial climate would be foolhardy!

Re: No Guernsey Live this year
Hmmm, let me think, Guernsey Live or British Irish Council meeting? Guernsey Live or British Irish Council meeting? Despite the fact that the public (particularly those under 40) would be overwhelmingly in favour of Guernsey Live, there's virtually no chance of it happening (IMO).
