Jersey Heritage want your help.

Each year they commission a portrait of an Islander who's made an outstanding contribution to Island life - and they want to hear your thoughts.

Over the last nine years, portraits have been commissioned of historians, community workers, an environmentalist, a union leader and an entertainer.

This year, Jersey Heritage is asking members of the public to recommend a sitter for the 2010 Jersey Heritage portrait commission.

Louise Downie, Curator of Art at Jersey Heritage said: "We would particularly welcome nominations for sitters from the younger members of our community."

Jersey Heritage will pick one person to be immortalised for future generations through their portrait image. The final portrait will then be displayed at Jersey Museum. (from CTV)
