Animals disrupt flying in Alderney
GOATS have been getting into Alderney Airport and bringing flying to a halt.
Several animals, including goats, have got into the grounds recently and now farmers are being warned to keep their livestock away.
Airport manager Keith Webster said: ‘The recent increase in incidents involving animals straying onto Alderney Airport is very worrying.
‘Any animal large or small presents a very serious safety risk to arriving and departing aircraft.
‘Their behaviour is unpredictable, especially in the vicinity of noisy aircraft, and all aviation-related operations have to come to a halt while the animal is secured and removed.
‘We are currently in discussions with the police in an attempt to resolve the issue.’ (from thisisguernsey)

How come "Alderney International Airport" does'nt have to have a security fence around it?
