The Devotees will be playing at Blind O'Reilly's this weekend
If you are after something to do this weekend then take a look through our guide to what's going on around the Bailiwick.

This weekend you will have the chance head over to Lihou island, experience the music of Bach in a special performance at the Town Church and see the Guernsey Ladies rugby team clash with Jersey at Footes Lane.


Arts & Culture
On Friday evening The Young Business Group of Guernsey is holding its annual Quiz at the Rocquettes Hotel tonight at 1900 and the theme this year is Extra Sensory. Teams can be made up of between three and six people and all proceeds will be going to the Guernsey Women's Refuge. you can find out more by calling Gillian Smart on 241869.

On Saturday afternoon Roy Cochrane will be taking a look back at Guernsey in days gone by with a slide and chat show at Les Cotils at 1400. To get tickets you can call Roy on 722772 or 07781 446205 and money raised goes to the Guernsey Diamond Cheerleaders.

Also on Saturday at 1930 The Guernsey Chamber Choir, conducted by Helen Grand, will be performing music by Bach at the Town Church.

On Saturday and Sunday you can head over to Lihou Island as the causeway will be passable between 0919 and 1145 on Saturday and 1032 and 1403 on Sunday.


Introducing
Live music this weekend sees The Tin Soldiers playing at the Albert Arms and The Devotess playing Blindo O'Reilly's on Saturday.

Spoonful will be playing their blues funk fusion at the Doghouse on Friday and Saturday.

In football Guernsey are playing Dorset in the semi-final of the National League Systems at Corbet Field at 1400.

Guernsey Ladies Rugby team play Jersey at Footes Lane on Saturday at 1300.

The Guernsey Autocross Club launch a new veterans class to celebrate the clubs 40th anniversary with racing at Chouet on Sunday at 1100.

This weekend sees the local premier of a new film featuring local acting talent, the continuation of Spring Walking Week exploring some of Guernsey's lanes and rockabilly cow-punks The John Wesley Stone launch their debut album.
Arts & Culture

On Saturday night The Guernsey Arts Commission are presenting the local premiere of FIT, a new feature film starring Guernsey born actress Tigger Blaize at 1930 at the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts.
The Guernsey Choral and Orchestral Society will be performing a night of Praise and Thanksgiving with Conductor Helen Grand on Saturday at 2000 at St James.
There is a Barn Dance at St Martin's Community Centre on Saturday evening from 2000 with live music from Shindig.

The Spring Walking Week continues this weekend, details of the walks can be found on here.
On Saturday Sue Daly is leading the Guillemot Trot in Sark to see the largest Guillemot colony in the Channel Islands. The walk ends with tea and biscuits in Sue's garden.
History

On Friday night the Guernsey Museum at Candie will be open from 1800 until 2100 and you will be able to handle historic objects not usually seen and talk to the curators.
'De Gaulle's escape via the Channel Islands' is the focus of a talk being given in French to Le Cercle Français at the Frossard Theatre, Candie Gardens starting at 2000.

On Saturday night country, roots and rockabilly band The John Wesley Stone will be launching their album Doggone at the Imperial at 2000 and Five Across The Eyes, Wax Off, James Robson & Clem Rix will be playing at Pieces Bar.
