Jersey's tourism industry turns to 'staycations'
Staycations - holidays at home - have been made the focus of an event aimed at boosting Jersey's tourist industry.
Jersey Enterprise, the States' business advice group, has organised a pre-season event to highlight leisure activities available in the island.
Staycation, on Friday 16 April, is open to local firms that operate activities in order to advertise their business.
Sean Pritchard, from Jersey Enterprise, said it would aid the industry without harming ferries and airlines.
He told BBC Jersey: "I think there's people coming to the island and then people leaving the island so transport links will support the business links, business sectors and the tourists that come to the island."
The event is due to run from 1500 until 1900 BST in St Helier's Weighbridge. (from BBC)
