Delays due to Channel Island ferry engine crack
Condor Ferries has changed its April schedule between the Channel Islands and UK because of an engine problem with Condor Express.
A crack in the casing of one of the four engines was discovered during routine maintenance as the vessel was completing its winter refit.
The ship has been running on three engines since the beginning of April.
Simon Edsall, managing director, apologised for any inconvenience caused by the amendments to the schedule.
He said the engine casing would need to be replaced and the spare was currently being cast.
Mr Edsall said the company had switched the Express to the Poole route and the Vitesse to the Weymouth route to reduce the schedule changes.
He said customers were being informed of any changes via a telephone call or text message and information concerning the progress of the repair work and the schedule amendments would be available on the company's website and from any of Condor Ferries' port offices.
