Jersey dominate Guernsey to retain Siam Cup
Jersey Rugby Club dominated in a 36-0 whitewash over Guernsey to retain the Siam Cup at Footes Lane on Saturday.
Jersey's first try came inside ten minutes as Ed Dawson crossed the line for the reds.
Two more from Ashley Maggs and one each from Nathan Kemp and Nick Trower sealed the win for the visiting side.
Jersey's win was their 27th successive victory of the season after suffering their only defeat, a 24-19 loss at Bracknell, on the opening day.
Jersey captain Talite Vaioleti said: "We're in a different league, but when we come to this competition we're on the same level, whoever makes mistakes, the other team can make their way forward.
"Fair play for Guernsey, it's been a good season for us both, but they were unlucky in their play-off last weekend."
Guernsey lost to Hove by three points in their promotion play-off, while Jersey have earned their first ever visit to Twickenham with a massive 65-14 win over Taunton in the National Three Champions semi-final.
Guernsey captain Simon Sharrott said: "Throughout the game we really put pressure on them, I think it was our own errors that cost us in the end.
"We've got to consolidate, we've got to get more players in the squad. Jersey have maybe 40 players to select from and we have maybe just over 20." (from BBC)
